Today it was a particular issue of Rolling Stone magaloid (paper magazine in tabloid form). The issue date is September 22, 1977
Two things attracted my attention while sorting these various magaloids: Elvis, on the cover, and the fact that this issue is the first issue put to press from New York City. Nearly ready for print when, as anyone who has worked in the newspaper industry well knows, the presses stop if there is a story worthy of 'getting out' right away. The death of Elvis Presley was the story 'worthy' of altering print deadlines this day.
After reading the editor's column, I glanced a bit more. Here are a few photos I took, showing the 'sign of the times', about Elvis, and a few advertisements that also reflect the times, and Rolling Stone magazine.
I own nothing, except the magaloid itself. If you would be interested to see front pages of other magaloids and what they put out about Elvis, just click on the ELVIS tab on the menu bar above and browse the page for more. ~nrl
